Im Jahre 1990 erblickte Jannis Winckler, ausgerüstet mit Stift und Papier das Licht der Welt. Er war dieses Kind, das im Unterricht immer auf die Tische kritzelte.
Während des Kommunikationsdesign-Studiums wandte er sich jedoch dem Film zu. Nach dem Abschluss 2017 begab er sich auf eine längere Auslandsreise ans andere Ende der Welt. Unterwegs fand er wieder zur Malerei zurück.
Vom ländlichen Limburg an der Lahn aus versucht er nun auf allen Wegen das Innere seines Kopfes zu erkunden und offenzulegen.
Psychedelische Formen bilden Landschaften, Figuren, Symbole. Es geht um Gegensätze und den Kreislauf aller Dinge.Die detailreichen Bilder laden ein, genauer hinzusehen. Man findet Natur und Urbanes, Lebensfreude und Tod, Tag und Nacht in vielen fantastischen Gestalten.
The year was 1990, when Jannis Winckler, with pen and paper in hand, came into the world. You surely remember the child who always scribbled on tables in school, that was him.
During his studies in communication design he focused more on film, but after travelling around the world for a while, he eventually found his way back to painting.
Out of rural Limburg an der Lahn he now tries to explore and reveal the inside of his mind.
Psychedelic shapes form landscapes, figures and symbols. Everything is about contradiction and the circle of all things.
His detailed art invites the observer to take a closer look. You’ll find nature and the urban, joy of life and death, day and night, in all their fantastic shapes and forms.
