Infra – Timeout
D Infra lebt und arbeitet als freischaffende Künstler in Berlin.
Nachdem er Tape als sein liebstes Medium entdeckt hatte trat Infra 2012 dem Kollektiv Tape That bei. Er reiste um die Welt und erschuf zahllose Installationen und Auftragsarbeiten. Er gestaltete Ausstellungen und gab Workshops, während er mit dem neuen Medium weiter in verschiedenste Richtungen experimentierte. All seine Installationen können als kommunikativer Prozess mit dem gegebenen Raum, den Menschen in ihm und dem Kontext verstanden werden. Seine Inspiration kommt vor allem aus zeitgenössischer Urban Art, Street Art und Design.
Unsere heutige Zeit beobachtend sucht er immer nach den Aspekten des menschlichen in unserer visuellen Kultur.
Die Ausstellung in der Gutleut Galerie war ein Timeout vom Alltagsleben als Künstler, das oft romantisiert wird.
Im Gegensatz zu existierenden Klischees besteht der Arbeitstag der meisten Künstler aus Organisation, Kommunikation, Buchhaltung und Reiseplanung. Die Zeit frei zu experimentieren ist selten, wertvoll und muss mit großer Sorgfalt genutzt werden. Daraus entsteht ein innerer Konflikt in dem der Output fertiger Arbeiten oft über freies Experimentieren siegt.
In Timeout wollte Infra beides vereinen und eine fertige Ausstellung aus experimentellen Arbeiten zeigen.
After discovering tape as his favourite medium and joining Tape That Collective in 2012 he has travelled around the world, created numerous commissioned installations, organised exhibitions and conducted workshops whilst experimenting in many directions with this new medium. All his installations can be seen as a communicative process with the given space, the people in it and the context. His inspiration comes mainly from urban art, street art and design.
Observing the time we live in, he searches for the human aspects in our visual culture.
At Galerie Gutleut Infra took a timeout from his everyday life as artist, which is often romanticised.
Against existing stereotypes, the average working day of most artists revolve around organisational communications, accounting or travel planning. Time to freely experiment is a precious good. As creative time is rare and has to be spent carefully the artist is always in an inner conflict between experimenting and producing finished works.
Timeout can be seen as an artistic experiment with an open end. It was a time of letting it all out. Infra stayed two weeks in the gallery space, falling asleep between art and waking up with it. It is a snapshot of a mind overflowing with dammed up ideas that had to be realised.
